What did Jesus DO & TEACH before He was taken up?

By: Gina Guy-WARren

When I wrote my book, one of the chapters deals with David’s mighty men. My spirit was captured when I first read the heading in 2 Samuel 23, “These are the names of David’s mighty men.” One of history’s greatest warriors and the one Jesus declared was a man after His own heart and we were privy to learn who fought with him! Now yet another statement in Acts chapter 1 stirred my spirit and curiosity. “ and my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do, and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven.” I immediately recalled the scripture in the book of John. In John 24:11-13. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified.”

We are living in the days of accelerated evil for the devil himself knows his time is short. The very fabric of our beliefs and all that our founding fathers stood for is being shred to pieces at a rate that we’ve never witnessed before in history. We see all 3 houses shaking. The Whitehouse, Courthouse and the Church House so that ultimately your very house will crumble and the radical agenda of the deep state who is fueled by the power of hell, will successfully complete their mission. To take out our children, our rights, our very DNA. If you don’t believe this is the agenda, it’s time to turn off your social media, your television and get before the Lord himself in prayer. Your life and that of your children depend on it. The powerful truth that will override this agenda, is the instructions and revelation that can only be found in the Word of God.

David understood that his enemies wanted to take him out, therefore he knew to choose mighty men who would fight the good fight alongside him. So what revelation and instruction can we glean from Acts chapter 1? Straightaway, Luke tells us that he wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach. I don’t know about you, but when I see that just before Jesus is taken up to heaven, I will turn my attention to what He did before He knew this would happen. We too cannot deny the hour in which we live is so incredibly twisted and evil, so wouldn’t you want to do just as Jesus did before we too are taken from this earth to be with Him in heaven?

Before Jesus was taken up, what did He do? The word declares he gave Holy Spirit instructions to the apostles He chose. Wait, Jesus chose mighty men before He was taken and filled them with instruction that came straight from heaven? Not of his own opinion nor did he follow the “how to build a church or how to grow your church in 30 days, or which church should I go join now.” He didn’t glean from “other ministries” and follow their ways. He gave Holy Spirit instructions to the ones he personally chose. Clearly, step number one in moving ahead in these evil days is to really know who is by your side and fighting with you. They must have their spiritual ears and hearts tuned into the Holy Spirit so their instruction is clear because have no doubts that if you have the wrong people around you, and you’re following the crowds of your favorite “profits and teachers” you could get yourself taken out and your families as well. I see it every single day in my ministry as I am “boots on the ground” outside the 4 walls of “religion by design.” In my counseling sessions, I see the husbands being taken out, the wives fighting for the families and the children being stripped of their purity and identity. This is not just in the states, but in the UK. Leaders and families coming to me for help as death has entangled them on all sides. This is not the way of the believer. If victory is ours in Jesus Christ, then why are we so bound? Something is getting lost and someone is missing it. I guarantee you it’s not Jesus. So let’s take a closer look at Acts chapter 1.

The greatest leader that ever existed, suffered greatly, but it was through His suffering He showed Himself to those He chose! Not everyone was privy to this inside information so to speak. You see, not everyone will understand why you go through intense seasons of suffering. They will have their opinions that you missed something, you are unforgiving, or you’re in sin. It’s not their fault just as Jobs 3 friends loved Job and had their opinions of why he was suffering. But God Himself answered them saying, “ Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?” Well meaning friends and family will have opinions, but you must listen to those whom God has placed next to you by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Brian and I have literally on ONE hand those who can speak into our lives. We know whom God has placed and who has been chosen. Do you know? That is your first step as declared in Acts 1. Jesus chose those Apostles and poured into them. They understood His suffering and didn’t offer opinions outside of the Holy Spirit. Sadly, social media has become a vehicle for opinions especially for leaders because people get a sense that they can speak directly into their lives. I recently received a dream and a word for a leader, however I didn’t just post it to their social media DM. I asked permission first to speak. That’s the way it should be done. As for Christ’s sufferings, He gave convincing proofs to His Apostles. He didn’t just tell them, He led them by example. He ate with them and built relationships with those He trusted to be next to him. Are you building relationships or isolating yourself? Remember, once you know by the Spirit of the Lord those who will fight with you and for you, don’t isolate yourselves. I love what verse 4 declares. “ On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John was baptized with water but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Understand that those who are to be close to you in these evil days, will develop trusted relationships and true fellowship breaking bread. It’s at this time, Jesus warned them not to move forward, UNTIL they were filled with fire and power.

Many of you are about to be promoted outside the church walls, and you will have to know who is called to your side. Who is truly hearing from the Spirit of God? It will be a life or death decision at this point. Sound a little dramatic? Jesus didn’t think so. He went on further to tell His chosen few, “It’s not for you to know the times or dates the father has sat by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.” He was then taken up.

All of this part of the teaching is fun and exciting isn’t it? True warriors next to us, Holy Ghost wisdom, power and instruction. Let’s keep reading. The disciples were constantly joining together in prayer, Along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. (Verses 13,14). Judas the evil Infiltrator has already been exposed and received his just reward for betraying the Son of Man. He lost his mind and suicide was his portion. We see this happening in real time in this hour. However, it was time to give that position to someone and here’s where it gets real. “It is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us. For one of these must become a witness with us of this resurrection.” So they go on to choose between two men.

Your hour of promotion has come and as verse 24 declares, the Lord knows everyone’s heart. You will be chosen as you’ve kept your heart pure and right before your Father in heaven. Do be prepared for jealous brothers and sisters as they will ask, why you and why were you chosen? The battle is ramping up saints of the most high God, and we must follow the instructions in the word of God. Line upon line and precept upon precept. He is a God of order and strategy. Our circle will be small, as it should be. Jesus was and is our example of how to move forward and with whom to do so. In summation, be sure to choose through the wisdom of the Holy Spirit who will fight next to you, and who is your inner circle in which you will glean from and break bread with? You will suffer in the days to come because the glory of Gods manifested through our pain and struggles, not our awesome giftedness. But do also know, great joys will overtake you as together with your Holy Ghost chosen tribe, great exploits will be done in the name of Jesus. Great works shall we do because He said so. Now before you go forward, make sure everything is in place biblically and in the natural to assure your victory that has already been promised to you!
